Northern Utah’s Best Outdoor Activities
Capitol Reef National Monument
Located in south-central Utah in the heart of red rock country, Capitol Reef National Park is a hidden treasure filled with cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold, a geologic monocline (a wrinkle on the earth) extending almost 100 miles.
This little gem located 30 minutes outside of Cedar City is a must see when in the area. It is actually a National Monument Park with camping, hiking trails, and breathtaking views. The 10,000 + ft of elevation helps. I recommend the Spectra Point hiking trail for great views of the whole place.
Bonneville Shoreline Trail (BST)
The Bonneville Shoreline Trail offers lots of outdoor activities including mountain biking, hiking, trail running, x-cross skiing, scenic views and rock climbing. The trail caters to both families with children and the experienced outdoors person.

Arches National park
This is a great place to visit year round. In fact if you can stand the cooler months the views are great, and the crowds are low. Arches offers many trail hiking options to see several arches. The license plate classic “Delicate Arch” is a good destination if you have never been there. The park provides hiking options for all abilities. Check out this link for more details and enjoy our Utah desert.

White Rock Trailhead at Antelope Island State Park
One of my favorite local rides in the area is on Antelope Island. It offers both hiking and mountain biking. I like a trail called White Rock on the West side of the lake with amazing views. I like to park at the White Rock parking lot and ride the loop counter clockwise. You can do multiple laps if you want more mileage. Great ride for all abilities.
